If you want to support Rebels taking action on the ground, this is the role for you. As an Arrestee and Legal supporter, you will help our Actions team by: - Collecting and maintaining records of arrestees, where consent is given, in collaboration with the XRUK Arrestee and Legal support team. - Advocating for strategies and action designs that respect: The different impacts of arrest on marginalised people. The impacts on the movement. Organisational as well as individual responsibilities for the support needs of arrestees. - Promoting training and resources which assist the community to support rebels to make informed decisions before, during and after arrest. - Coordinating support for XR trials. This role can involve no work on some weeks, and lots on others, depending on when actions are happening, so someone with a flexible schedule will find things easier. You will need to keep in the loop with which actions are being planned, but don't have to make every meeting. Training and support is available before you take on this role.
