About the Media & Messaging (M&M) team

M&M is the mouthpiece of XRUK, running all the digital and press comms: social media, website, email, Telegram broadcast channels, and mainstream media.
The team sits at the very heart of XRUK, closely linked with Actions and our many allies. The team’s output sets the tone and energy of the movement - this is extremely rewarding and impactful work!

The role

Do you have experience with project management?

If you have experience managing teams in fast-paced environments, then the Comms Weaver role is for you. No previous XR experience is required. You might find comms experience useful, but mostly this is about task management.
You’ll need around 3 days a week for this role. It works well as a job share between two people, supported by the Internal Coordinator and an additional Admin role within the team.

Managing XRUK’s comms requires somebody to stay on top of information flow. Requests for comms come in all the time and need picking up, checking, chasing for details, and funnelling through to the correct output channels (social, email, broadcast, etc). For big announcements and campaigns all the outputs need to be coordinated together.
The Comms Weaver is the person who knows how it all fits together, where all the tasks are, what needs to be done next, and who to call to make it happen! Don’t worry, there will be plenty of time with the current Comms Weaver for onboarding.
