The Outreach circle
Outreach is dedicated to making sure that actions and events are supported by outreach to the public, and ensuring that when needed, actions have a Welcome Hub / Outreach Hub to provide attendees and the public with information and advice.
The purpose of an External Coordinator (EC) is to represent our circle in their "parent circle" in XR UK's structure. Our parent circle is currently Actions Support, but we are looking to change this (we can discuss upcoming changes with you). You feed information back from our parent circle to our circle, report Outreach progress back to the parent, take part in the work of Actions Outreach, and take part in decision making in the parent circle from your role as our EC.
An EC role is an important function in XR's structure, but the role can be suitable for someone fairly new to how we work. It's a good way to learn the ropes.
Having been to a few actions or rebellions, and having done some street outreach, would be useful in knowing what Outreach looks like, but is not strictly essential. We're looking for someone to either join our current external coordinator in a job-share or to take over the role.
