We're looking for a volunteer fundraising Lead Researcher to support the XRUK Fundraising Team.
This is a great role for someone who can help us find, organise and make sense of information needed for funding applications and strategic projects, and wants to help make climate action possible.
The role would suit someone who enjoys reading, analysis, joining the dots and turning information into something useful. You do not need to be an academic or professional researcher. Curiosity, critical thinking and good organisational skills are more important.
Activities may include:
- Researching grant funders and funding opportunities.
- Finding useful evidence, statistics and case studies.
- Summarising reports and complex information.
- Helping campaign teams articulate their impact and needs.
- Identifying gaps in information before applications are submitted.
Time commitment is flexible / for discussion.
The Fundraising Team is friendly, organised and dynamic.
The purpose of the Fundraising Team is to ensure the movement has enough money to function well.
Our team tasks include:
- Raising income by scoping, researching, engaging and developing all sources of income, including individual givers, major donors and institutional donors.
- Raising income by deepening our relationship with supporters and funders.
- Raising income by creating powerful content in alignment with UK M&M’s messaging strategy.
- Developing relationships with notables and programming speakers and performers for XRUK events.
- Forecasting, analysing and reporting on income and other fundraising data.
- Negotiating and finalising agreements on behalf of XRUK with donors, trusts, foundations, and other aligned organisations, in accordance with XRUK’s financial processes, while ensuring appropriate due diligence and maintaining the financial integrity of the movement.
- The quality and accuracy of Fundraising-related content on the website.
