Essential Skills:Well-organized, efficient, reliable, and willing to take initiative. Good written and oral communication in English. Good people skills. Basic IT skills. A basic understanding of XRUK and its structure
Desired Skills: Experience of XR central circles.
Accessibility considerations:Access to a PC. Access to zoom, including a camera, with a reliable internet connection. Access to WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal

Are you super organised rebel with good people skills who wants to make a difference in XR from home? If so, A&LS needs you!

Arrestee Legal Support is a large circle with multiple sub-groups. We support rebels through the arrest, charge and trial process. We also provide pre-arrest support including legal briefings for action planner and Know Your Rights training for rebels.

The core duties of the Internal Coordinator for A&LS include:

  • Planning the agenda for the weekly A&LS zoom meeting on Wednesday evening
  • Helping to facilitate the meeting as needed
  • Coordinating with the various A&LS sub-groups
  • Managing overall information flow within A&LS as needed
  • Helping to maintain an effective and healthy team
  • Keeping data about the group up to date, including appointments to roles in A&LS and its sub-groups

  • This role does not require any legal knowledge or training. Familiarity with XR structure and processes is helpful, but prior experience in A&LS is not required.

    The XR Arrestee and Legal Support Team has supported thousands of rebels through the arrest and court process by providing pre-action trainings, legal briefings, a 24/7 phone support line during actions where arrests are expected, and post-arrest support.
