Working closely with the Media and Messaging External Coordinator and sub-circle coordinators, the Internal Coordinator looks after the team's priorities, logistics and organisation. This role works well as a job-share between two people.

Internal Coordinator core duties

- Set M&M's priorities based on the core asks from the XRUK

- Movement Strategy and M&M's own strategy.

- Review and update the M&M priorities regularly and collaboratively with the team.

- Set out an M&M strategy for at least the duration of your term as IC - work on this collaboratively with your External Coordinator (EC) and the coordinators of the M&M sub-circles.

- Set up weekly catch ups with the sub-circle coordinators.

- Set up regular catch ups with your EC to make sure you are aligned and are up to date with the goings on in the wider movement.

- Attend regular catch ups with the IC(s) of Operations Circle, the parent circle of M&M.

- Plan the agenda for the Monday morning weekly M&M meeting and the weekly Messaging Editorial meeting on Wednesdays.

- Find an external facilitator for the Monday meetings (preferable), OR be ready to facilitate the meeting yourself (holding meetings on track with the agenda and structures decision making processes, you must have had facilitation training for XRUK meetings).

- Recruit and onboard new team members making sure they agree with XR’s Ways of Working, our Principles and Values and our Demands.

- Add new members to any communications platforms as required, including Signal chats, Mattermost, UK Comms Hub, Telegram, and Google Drive.

- Listen to feedback from circle members and guide them into the right role within the group.

- Deal with tensions in M&M and its sub-circles, ask for help from the parent circle, Operations, if this cannot be resolved internally.

- Represent the group in the wider movement if the EC is unable to.

- Attend sub-circle meetings, especially the two core teams: Press and Social Media.

- Pastoral care: check in with team members, support them, help them work regeneratively, find help if you cannot resolve it for them.

- Elections for the EC and IC will be held at the weekly M&M meeting on Monday 21 October at 10:00 via Zoom

- At the elections you will be asked to say a little about yourself, your experience and skills with media and messaging, why you want to do the role and allows team members to ask you questions.

- You and the other candidates will then be popped into a breakout room and the team will cast their vote.
