About XRUK Operations [Ops]

Ops' purpose is to deliver the XRUK strategy and the team is responsible for much of the work being done by the XRUK teams.

  • It is a large team - a typical meeting has up to 16 people.
  • Its priorities are largely dictated directly by the XRUK strategy.
  • Its accountabilities are mostly delegated to its sub-circles.
  • It spends the majority of XRUK’s budget.

The Internal Coordinator(s) role is to ensure the team is healthy and achieving its mandate
Some of the IC tasks include:

  • Designing the best team structure, mandates and policies to deliver the strategy
  • Turning the strategy into an operational plan
  • Defining and regularly reviewing the priorities of each sub-circle; supporting them to deliver
  • Protecting the positive and professional culture of the circle
  • Deciding the meeting agendas and maintaining minutes and action points
  • Maintaining good governance, and supporting sub-circles to do the same
  • Monitoring and reporting progress to the Hive
  • Collaborating with Systems & Cultures to embed their work into Ops
  • Working closely with the Strategy team

Time commitment

The Ops IC role is a big job - close to a full-time role - and can work well as a role share between more than one person.

In addition to the twice-weekly Ops team meetings, the ICs also have regular (weekly or fortnightly) coordinator meetings with the Coordinators of each of the sub circles, plus link roles. This can mean up to 12 hours of online meetings a week .

Elections are scheduled for Monday 8th September. Deadline for applications Thursday 4th September.
