Internal Coordinator | XRUK Allies

The Allies team is a supportive, dynamic and growing team within the Operations circle.

Our purpose is to support XRUK to build and maintain strong and effective relationships with external groups and organisations to meet the strategic need for a wider spectrum of support to achieve XRUK’s demands.

By collaborating with allied groups, we can then support each other to strengthen resistance and bring about positive change.

We support the building and maintenance of relationships around a range of collaborative actions, campaigns and events.

The role requires approx. 3 hours per week however this can vary. The role can be shared between two people, reducing the time commitment necessary.

The key role of the Internal Coordinator (IC) is to ensure the team is healthy and achieving its mandate.

Some of the IC tasks include:

  • Proposing roles and projects the team needs to fulfil its purpose and accountabilities.
  • Supporting the work of role-holders and sub-circles, and reviewing their work at regular intervals.
  • Inviting people with relevant skills and abilities to join the team as required.
  • Maintaining an awareness of what is happening in the wider organism, and communicating regularly with the team’s External Coordinator.
  • Tending the team’s culture so that everyone is respected, and tensions (including discriminatory patterns) are addressed.

If you enjoy supporting others, making campaigns and projects run smoothly, and helping people feel seen and valued, we want to hear from you. This team is essential for keeping XR visible and effective in working alongside external organisations. There is lots to do given the many agendas and movements happening nowadays!

We’d love to support you as you grow into it. If you're interested but unsure, let’s have a chat to see how we can make this work together!
