Our media work is key to supporting our rebellions and actions in Scotland as we act for planet and people.

We are looking for friendly, creative rebels who love working with words, spokespeople, press, messages, images and video.

We are currently looking for rebels to join XR Scotland’s media team and help deal with the press. This role could be useful for someone looking to gain experience working in media. The media team will provide training and support and an opportunity to learn about the media landscape in Scotland.

Key roles

These roles are shared amongst the team for dealing with media.

• Monitor email box for press queries.
• Co-ordinate spokespersons and quotes for media.
• Write and distribute press releases to the media.
• Updating and maintaining press release distribution list.
• Attend meetings to represent the media team and work with groups on media tactics.
• Co-ordinate and deal with media at actions.
• Help prepare communication and social media packs for actions.
• Develop and distribute content from actions.
• Developing contacts and building relationships.
• Creating content for social media posts with compelling imagery, text, design.
• Know how to use social media with content management tools or you're happy to learn.
• Link in with groups and circles to collaborate on communications and messaging.

Meetings take place on Zoom, and regular communication is done via chat apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal.
