Desired Skills:Media management skills, Experience of XR comms platforms and other tech tools or willingness to learn: GoogleDocs, Bitwarden, Zoom, Movement Calendar
Accessibility considerations:Accessibility considerations: Must have access to good internet.Capable use of online tools such as: Google Drive, XR Comm's Hub, Zoom, other platforms. Training and support available.

General Overview

This role carries Volunteer Living Expenses (VLE) It could be a role-share between two people.


Working closely with our Cymru Wales Media and Messaging External Coordinator, Actions crew and other Cymru sub-circle coordinators and Garddwr (Gardener), our M&M Internal Coordinator collaborates on acting on Cymru's team priorities, comms planning and campaign management.

You'll be supported as part of a wider team and given training until you're comfortable in your role. This is a fascinating role, so don't hesitate to step up if up for a challenge!


Internal Coordinator Responsibilities


  • Agree convenient team meet up time with comms and other Cymru crew, in the absence of admin support
  • Set M&M's priorities based on the core asks from the XR Cymru Wales Anchor crew.
  • You will keep track of key calendar dates and progress on media projects to make sure they run as smoothly as possible and are completed to any required schedules.
  • Review and update the M&M priorities and comms schedule regularly and collaboratively with the Cymru team.
  • Advise and support Cymru Wales local and working groups with their comm's projects.
  • Set up weekly catch ups with your EC, sub-circle coordinators, the Gardener(s) local group reps and comms related volunteers.
  • Facilitate Cymru Mycellium meetings, keeping them on track with the agenda and structures decision making processes.
  • Identify comms support roles for hands on comms support, e.g. managing the Cymru Wales website, newsletter, social media, or other comms channel.
  • Work with Cymru coordinators to recruit and on-board new team members. Ensure team volunteers have actually signed their Volunteer Agreement agree with XR’s Ways of Working, our XR's Principles and Values and are signed up to XR UK's Three Demands. Support from Cymru's Integrator or Internal Coordinator will be available.
  • Ensure new M&M Team members are added to any communications platforms as required; Cymru Integrator, or Tech IC Cymru will support new volunteers with the practicalities.
  • When tensions cannot be resolved internally, liaise with your EC, or if tensions are with your EC, speak to XRUK M&M External Coordinator. Liaise with Cymru Internal Coordinator as necessary.
  • Represent the Cymru M&M team in the wider movement if the EC is unavailable.
  • Regenerative cultures means caring for each other; check in with team members, support them, help them work regeneratively. Identify help if you cannot resolve XR-related issues for them.

    Elections for the EC and IC roles will be held at Cymru's weekly Anchor meeting - Tuesday evenings, 7-8:30pm via Zoom / Big Blue Button.

    You will be asked to say a little about yourself, your experience and skills with media and messaging, why you want to do the role. This allows team members to ask you questions. If there are other candidates you will then be all popped into a breakout room and the Anchor crew will cast their vote.
