Recruiters play a vital role in expanding and strengthening XR by identifying, engaging, and onboarding new volunteers who are passionate about driving climate action. This role focuses on building a diverse, inclusive, and committed volunteer movement that aligns with XR’s core Principles and Values. This is a very satisfying role for someone who likes to see people fulfil their potential, as well as bring new energy to groups.

We [XRUK Recruitment Support] want to build our team of recruiters. A recruiter is linked in a support role from Recruitment Support to an XRUK team who are running a recruitment drive to build their team's capacity. The recruiter identifies what that team needs and then supports them with the recruitment and onboarding of new applicants into the team.

The mandate [purpose and tasks] for the Recruiter & Onboarding Coordinator states that: Team members are flourishing and productive in all roles, and the team has team members to fill its roles and support its workload.

Accountabilities

  • Inviting new members to join the team in alignment with this policy
  • Onboarding, inducting and orienting new members into the team.
  • Relevant admin tasks, e.g. updating XR platforms.
  • Checking in with team members about their fit with roles, projects and the team generally, and offering feedback.
  • Suggesting improvements to who fills roles, to improve the work of the team and its members, or when a role-holder has completed the length of their term.

SUPPORT: Training is available, and you will be able to shadow others doing this role until you feel confident in the role. You will be part of the friendly Recruitment Support team.
