Meeting Time:Must attend at least one of the following: Tuesdays 1 - 2:30; Wednesdays 6.30 - 7.30 // Must attend M&M meeting at least once a month Monday 10 - 12

Essential Skills:Proactive and comfortable working remotely as part of a team - Reliable - Confident communicator - Confident using various social media platforms (twitter, facebook, instagram) - Willingness to learn about legal issues relating to XR
Desired Skills:Copy writing experience, Willingness to undertake any necessary online trainings related to the role on the Rebellion Academy (Mattermost, Social media, XR's DNA, SOS, GDPR etc) - Interest in arrest welfare, NVDA, protest law etc (any level)

The Arrestee and Legal Support (A&LS) team are looking for a social media and communications coordinator.

This will include:

  • writing social media posts for the A&LS team
  • monitoring A&LS social media accounts, replying to comments etc
  • link role to Media & Messaging circle to ensure messaging is consistent and important content can be shared widely across XR UK
  • helping to write email newsletter to supporters
  • attending meetings to gain a knowledge of the work being carried out by the team
  • proactively suggesting content for social media
  • engaging with similar social media accounts to increase our presence

    The XR Arrestee and Legal Support Team has supported thousands of rebels through the arrest and court process by providing pre-action trainings, legal briefings, a 24/7 phone support line during actions where arrests are expected, and post-arrest support.
