Spokesperson Coordinator - Press Team Role description: This is a very specific role for someone to team up with the existing coordinator for the official spokespeople of Extinction Rebellion UK. You will be working within the Press Team which sits in the Media and Messaging working group of Extinction Rebellion UK. Core duties: - Managing and maintaining the group of spokespeople using Signal. - Recruiting new spokespeople. - Organising training for new spokespeople - Organising regular practise and refresher sessions for existing spokespeople. - Organising briefings for spokespeople on specific topics. - Working together closely with the Press Team, liaising with the media who have requested to interview Extinction Rebellion. - Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the group of spokespeople to ensure you select the right person for the interview. - Supporting the spokesperson before an interview. - Debriefing and moral support after an interview, especially if it was a hostile one. - Keeping a record of completed interviews in a spreadsheet for budget and strategy reporting purposes. - To attend the weekly Press Team meeting. - You will keep the Press Team informed about your work and latest developments.
