Volunteer researcher needed to join a team running a multi-round ‘Delphi’ survey of XR activists with the aim of sharing best practice on several core themes across the movement and creating communication between disparate parts of XR.
The survey’s first round is already designed and about to go to piloting, however there will be a significant amount of written data to analyse, as well as subsequent rounds of questions to write.
The aim is to produce three rounds of the survey in total, with the first being sent out prior to the ‘The Big One’ protest, and the other two afterwards. We anticipate that the nature of the work will be intermittent, with quiet periods while the survey is being answered and busy periods of data analysis and coding.
The hope is that this survey will offer a way for local and central groups to communicate with one another in a way which taps the knowledge of experienced activists within XR and allows progress in tackling key challenges like burnout, and in making XR a more inclusive movement.

The Feedback and Learning Culture Circle works to enhance learning experience, successes and failures, both within and outside XR, making real XR UK’s core Principle & Value: “we value reflection and learning”. What we have done so far: Feedback and Learning Culture produced a breakdown of the Debrief Analysis and several surveys and interviews which helped inform the Strategy Team. What we are doing now: We are creating an Actions Council to help feedback on controversial action plans. We are starting a set of 360 interviews of influential XR personalities. We are creating an Outcomes Dashboard to help measure XR’s impact through time. What we need: All kinds of people really ! But we also seek people with a professional background in: project management, theories of change, educational platforms, data analytics, life/business coaching, video editors, 2D/3D animators to help us disseminate our findings.
