Talks & Trainings are a key way of empowering people to become Rebels and this role is about supporting Local Groups in the Midlands to connect with training resources and to help them develop their trainers of their own. The Talks and Training (T&T) Supporter will work closely with the External Coordinator to keep linked up with the UK T&T team, who provide resources and support to regional teams working in this area. The T&T Supporter will be connected to other members of the Midlands Regional Working Groups team, so they can get support and their efforts can be coordinated and amplified.

Specific elements of the role include the following:

  • Finding speakers and trainers to run trainings (this work will be supported by other members of the Midlands team).
  • Keeping a calendar of the talks and trainings that are happening in the Midlands, including who is running them.
  • Creating and maintaining records of active speakers and trainers in the Midlands.
  • Sharing information about talks & trainings with Midlands Rebels.
  • Collaborating with the Midlands Gardeners to support new and existing groups with putting on talks and trainings.
  • Encouraging local organisers to be on the lookout for people who will make good speakers and trainers, especially in areas and communities that are under-represented.

If a candidate was interested in this role but couldn't fulfil all the elements, we would hope to find someone to share and take other pieces on.

This role is being advertised by the following working group:
