The Weavers Circle for the first phase of The Next Big Thing (TNBT) was mandated by the XRUK Action Circle in August 2025. This action relating to the first phase is currently planned for December 2025.
Weavers Circles are intended to enable the collaboration between XRUK mandated circles. The XRUK mandated circles support all the anticipated functions required to deliver a typical action; the Weavers Circle enables these circles to collaborate closely and in a fast-paced environment.
The Weavers policy outlines this role. All applicants are expected to have read and understood the policy. A shadow role holder does not attend meetings but is there to step in as a deputy if required and to provide support and assistance to the primary role holder.

Purpose
The team is contactable across and, where appropriate, outside of the organism with clear outlines of what the team does and who to contact.Accountabilities
- Answering or forwarding online communication requests to this team, e.g. from the circle’s email account.
- Checking other (non-Weavers) communications channels such as a MatterMost reception.
- Creating regular summary updates of the team’s work/projects to share with other groups.
- Ensuring that all relevant circles are linked into decisions made that affect their circles
- Liaising with the Wider Wisdom team to ensure that two-way comms are maintained
- Helps establish and maintain a Comms Plan and Core Info Doc for use by XRUK M&M and other teams
