Do you enjoy speaking to small online groups? Do you want to help give the best possible welcome to people new to XR? Then this role could be for you!

Our Welcome to XR talk is one of the most important talks in XR. It is the first thing we invite new joiners to do with us and is often the first time that someone new to our movement will meet someone already in XR. So we want to give them a great welcome and set them on the road to active participation with XR.

We run the talk weekly and alternate between speakers - to start with you would shadow the existing speakers to learn the ropes, then co-present, and then take over presenting a session when you are comfortable. We have a script and a set of slides so don't worry about having to remember everything! Also, you don't need to know everything there is to know about XR - if someone asks a question and you don't know the answer it is fine to say you will get back to them.

If you are interested and would like to know more, please apply and we will get back to you. Thank you!

XRUK Talks & Training

Location: XR UK (UK Wide)

XRUK Talks & Training coordinates talks, training and workshops for the movement upon request, and we proactively organise talks, training and workshops across the movement. Our other roles consist of collating and cataloguing talk, training and workshop materials from across the movement, making training information accessible to the movement and ensuring that training materials and training, are accessible to all volunteers. We maintain a database of XRUK speakers and trainers, as well as writing, updating and distributing the 'Nonviolent Direct Action' (NVDA), 'Heading for Extinction' (HfE) and Street Speakers' training/talks materials. And lastly, we provide support to other XRUK circles to improve the quality of their talks, training and workshops.
