ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you a good listener with a passion for climate justice and supporting people? We're looking for a compassionate and reliable volunteer to provide one-to-one organisational support for XR members who struggle with task prioritisation and seeing the wood from the trees!
Many of our members are deeply committed activists, but find it difficult to organise and prioritise their workload — whether that's managing tasks for XR campaigns or simply keeping on top of day-to-day responsibilities. You'll meet with them regulary online to help them break down tasks, identify priorities, and feel more in control.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Meet online with rebels who need support - based on your availability
- Help them identify, unpick, and prioritise tasks in a non-judgmental way
- Offer a consistent, reliable, and structured space
- Adapt your approach to suit each individual's needs
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and signpost to professional support where needed
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You don't need formal qualifications, but you should have:- A reliable, consistent and patient approach
- An understanding of neurodiversity and/or mental health challenges
- An awareness of how the climate and nature crises affect the emotional wellbeing of activists (eco-anxiety, grief, burnout)
- Familiarity with basic task management or organisational strategies
- Respect for confidentiality and personal boundaries
- A commitment to XR's Principles & Values
- Awareness of XR UK's Safeguarding
