Seeking Budget Holders for XRUK circles!
Being a Budget Holder is an important role, but doesn’t usually take much time. We are seeking a number of role holders who can then be matched with circles in need.
As a Budget Holder you will receive an induction by the Finance team, and receive budget information from the Integrated Budget Group. You will be a full member of the circle you are budget holder for (unless they have a policy that says otherwise).
You will need to be comfortable with spreadsheets and XR’s communication platform (training is available), have a keen eye for detail and be an efficient and patient communicator.
You will be matched with a circle that suits your availability. Due to the nature of this role, you will need to adhere to XRUKs Volunteer Agreement, and we may seek additional verification of who you are.
Purpose
The team has money spent and distributed, and volunteers have expenses re-reimbursed when requested and where required for its operation. The team’s budget is managed well and transparently.
Accountabilities
- Handling any requests for volunteer living expenses transparently with the team.
- Approving, declining, recording, and tracking team members’ requests for payment.
- Advising the Integrated Budget Group of new and existing funding requests outside of the allocated budget.
- Assisting the Integrated Budget Group and broader circle budget holders during regular budget reviews.
- Monitoring the budget holder chats for any information that might be relevant to their role
- Maintaining and sharing transparent records of the expenditure and money of the team, upon request of other members of this team, or budget holders of super circles if relevant.

The Integrated Budget Group (IBG) is the team within XRUK that makes decisions on how XRUK’s money is spent. It distributes income to support XR UK’s strategic objectives in a transparent way which is fair and aligned with XR’s Principles & Values. It is made up of representatives from across XRUK teams, i.e. the Hive, Operations and Systems & Culture.
