About the Tech Lead and Liaison role
We are updating our online learning platform, Rebellion Academy — academy.extinctionrebellion.uk — and adapting it to the current needs. The purpose of the Tech Lead and Liaison role is to ensure that our technical platform is secure, reliable, and effectively connected to XR UK's wider technical infrastructure . You will be the main contact translating between the needs of courses and learners, and the systems to meet their needs.
- Maintaining the academy site so that learners can register, log in, and navigate courses reliably.
- Upgrading and maintaining the Moodle server and installed software including plugins and themes.
- Monitoring the platform for security and privacy vulnerabilities and applying fixes promptly.
- Assessing the technical feasibility of design and interface changes proposed by the Digital Learning Designer.
- Coordinating technical and hosting needs with the relevant roles/teams within Digital.
- Producing platform usage statistics with the Academy circle and its broader circles..
- Advising the Academy circle on technical options and costs when platform decisions are needed.

For this role, some experience of Learning Management Systems (ideally Moodle) would be very useful.
