It’s important for safety and security that anyone taking direct action with a risk of arrest is trained to know what to expect, even if their arrest is unlikely. XRUK provides Non-Violent Direct Action training, but differences between Scotland and the rest of the UK in police, legal, and activist support systems, among other differences, create a requirement for a bespoke workshop in Scotland, but among other things, differences in police, legal, and activist support systems in Scotland creates a requirement for a bespoke workshop.

The purpose of the role is to provide communication between the XR Scotland Operations working group, the XR UK Talks and Training group, and activist contacts working on direct action training in Scotland.

You will be expected to set up meetings with relevant stakeholders and book venues for workshops, but will not be expected to run training yourself or have done any particular training before taking on the role.
